How It Works
An optimization engine analyzes cloud usage and billing data to find inefficiencies, such as oversized resources or spend that runs on full on-demand pricing instead of discounted commitments. Each finding comes with a recommended action and its projected savings.
How Usage.ai Does It
The examples below focus on commitment-based rate optimization: identifying eligible on-demand usage and comparing recommended commitments with estimated savings. Usage.ai refreshes recommendations every 24 hours for services such as EC2, Fargate, RDS, ElastiCache, Redshift, OpenSearch and DynamoDB. Each recommendation shows the instance, region and account, the current on-demand spend, the recommended Savings Plan or Reserved Instance rate, and the estimated annual savings, with approval status for each recommendation. For the services a customer enables, Autopilot purchases recommended commitments automatically as usage changes.
